AURORA, ONTARIO, Canada, June 14, 2010 – Magna Exteriors and Interiors, an operating unit of Magna International Inc., has received three 2009 supplier performance awards from American Honda Motor Co., Inc. The awards honor Honda's top North American OEM and service parts suppliers for high quality, on-time delivery, and performance improvements, and were given during ceremonies on April 28 and 29, 2010.
Magna Exteriors and Interiors’ Co-Ex-Tec facility in Concord, Ontario, was recognized with a Productivity Improvement Award, while the group’s Rollstamp facility, also in Concord, Ontario, was the recipient of two awards: Delivery Performance and Productivity Improvement (one of 13 companies to receive a double award) and Supplier Performance in support of service parts. Co-Ex-Tec supplies the Honda Pilot and the Acura ZDX, while Rollstamp supplies the Acura TL and the Acura MDX.
Hidenobu Iwata, who leads Honda's manufacturing in North America, expressed deep appreciation for the efforts of Honda suppliers to meet the needs of customers during an historic economic recession and market decline. "You responded by making the necessary changes to keep your companies competitive," he said. "Your flexibility and willingness to work together allowed us to weather this storm."
